Choosing a height
Bed head height is a room decision as much as a bed decision. A tall bed head fills a high-ceilinged room and anchors the bed; a lower one keeps a small room feeling open. Sit up in bed and note where your shoulders land — the bed head should clear that comfortably.
Width and proportion
Bed heads are sized to the mattress, but the visual result differs. One matched exactly to the mattress reads neat and contained; a wider one gives the bed more presence against the wall. Check what space you have either side before choosing.
