Bed heads
The bed head sets the tone of the room. Height matters more than most people expect: a tall bed head fills a high-ceilinged room and gives the bedroom a focal point, while a lower one keeps a small or low-ceilinged room feeling open. Sit up in bed and note where your shoulders land — the bed head should clear that comfortably.
Bedside tables
A bedside table works best when its top sits level with, or slightly above, the top of your mattress. Measure your mattress height before choosing, and in a narrow room take a slim table with one drawer over a wider one with two.
